Tour to Peru: Machu Picchu & Gastronomy

ABOUT THIS TOUR

This tour will allow you to experience Peru from a different perspective. You will visit Peru’s historical sites in Cusco and Machu Picchu with a special ingredient: you will be able to eat the traditional food of every place you visit.  Thus you will get to taste the wonderful meals of Peru which are famous all over the world.

PROGRAM DETAILED

DAY 01: LIMA

We will attend to you from the moment you arrive at Lima.  Mapusur personnel will take you to your hotel.

 

DAY 02: LIMA

In the morning you will visit a typical market with a professional chef, where you can appreciate many products used in Peruvian gastronomy.  Vegetables like tubers or fruits like aguaymanto.  You will taste the delicious flavors of these products.

Afterwards, you will visit Rosa Náutica restaurant, where you will enjoy a delightful buffet of the typical Peruvian meals.

Then, there will be a city tour with a bilingual guide.  You will have the opportunity to see the colonial churches and mansions like the Presidential Palace, the Main Square, the Cathedral and the San Francisco Convent.

Finally, you will visit the Country Club Hotel, where you will prepare and drink Peru’s most known beverage: Pisco Sour. We will then take you to your hotel.

 

DAY 03: LIMA / CUSCO

In the morning you will take a flight towards Cusco.  You will have free time to acclimatize to the altitude of the City.

 

In the afternoon the excursion begins by visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Santo Domingo Monastery, and nearby ruins like Kenko, Puka Pukará, Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman fortress.

We will then take you to your hotel, where you will enjoy a dinner show buffet.

 

DAY 04: CUSCO / URUBAMBA VALLEY

In the morning there will be a trip to the Urubamba Valley.  You will pass by the famous market of Pisac, where you can meet the local craftsmen and buy their art.  You will participate in the ritual of pachamama (tribute to the earth) while you eat and enjoy the view of the Vilcanota river. Then you will visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo.

You will then be taken to your hotel in the sacred valley of Urubamba.

 

DAY 05: URUBAMBA VALLEY / MACHU PICCHU

In the morning we will take you to the train station.  You will travel to Machu Picchu in the Hiram Bingham train, from which you can enjoy the spectacular landscapes. This will be an unforgettable experience.  You will be accompanied by a professional guide who will transmit to you the history of this mysterious city.

You will be able to explore the ruins. Then we will take you to your hotel, where you can enjoy a buffet.

DAY 06: MACHU PICCHU / CUSCO

You will have a free morning to visit the ruins or to climb the Huayna Picchu, the great mountain behind the ruins.  In the afternoon we will be heading back to Cusco by train.  You will enjoy a buffet of typical food.

We will take you to your hotel.

 

DAY 07: CUSCO / LIMA

We will take you to the airport, where you will aboard an airplane back to Lima.  You will have a free morning.  You will then visit Le Cordon Bleu, an institute specialized in gastronomy. Finally, we will offer you a farewell dinner.

 

DAY 08: LIMA

We will take you to the airport, where you will take a flight back home.
