Tour to Peru: Machu Picchu and Amazon River Cruise

ABOUT MACHU PICCHU AND THE AMAZON

This trip combines two of the main attractions to Peru; the wildlife of the Amazon rainforest and the ruins of the Incan Empire. The Amazon rainforest represents over half of the world’s remaining rainforests, and is special as it is the most species rich in the world. Many animals and plants you may see are unique to the Amazon and the Americas; including scarlet macaws.

To see the Incan ruins we will take you to their ancient capitol the city of Cusco. This city is interesting for not only its Incan ruins but also for its colonial architecture built by the Spanish after their arrival in the 1500′s. Near to Cusco is the highlight of our historical tour, the ‘lost city’ of Mach Picchu, a wonder of the world that is certainly a wonder to see!

WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS TOUR

  • Explore Cusco’s Incan ruins including the Sacsayhuaman Fortress
  • Buy local crafts at the famous Pisac market
  • Visit the ‘lost city’ of Machu Picchu – one of the new seven wonders of the world
  • See rescued manatees and dolphins at the ‘“Center of Manatees” sanctuary
  • Cruise the Amazon river and try to spot monkee’s by the riverside
