MEXICO ROUTE OF THE SUN

DETAILED PROGRAM

DAY 01: MEXICO CITY

Reception and transport from the airport to the hotel. The afternoon and the night are free. By regulation, the rooms are handed over at 1 p.m. At night, we offer as a welcome treat an optional visit to the Garibaldi Plaza, where you will enjoy a folkloric show (US$ 60).

DAY 02: MEXICO CITY – BASILICA OF GUADALUPE – TEOTIHUACAN

Transport to the Basilica of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Time to visit and pray at the shrine, where the painting of the virgin is kept. Afterwards, the tour continues towards the archeological site of Teotihuacan, also known as the City of the Gods. Upon arrival, the guide will take us to the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon.  We will also visit the pottery factory. Finally, we will return to Mexico with a previous stop at the famous Garibaldi Plaza, where we will enjoy a panoramic view. Transport to the hotel. Included lunch without beverages.

DAY 03: MEXICO – XOCHIMILCO – MUSEUM OF FRIDA KAHLO

Panoramic tour by the ancient and modern streets of the Mexican capital, like La Reforma Avenue, until we reach the historical center, where we will find the cathedral and the national palace. We will also visit the remains of the ancient Tenochtitlan (the Azteca capital) as well as the palace of beaux arts and other important buildings. Afterwards, we will go by the Insurgentes Avenue (the longest in America), where we will see the bull ring (the largest in the world), the theatre Los Insurgentes with its mural paintings, until we reach the University City (UNAM). Afterwards, we will arrive at Xochimilco, also known as the “Venice of America” due to its canals, which we will sail on a “trajinera” (typical boat). Finally, we will return with a previous stop at Coyoacan, where we will visit the house of Frida Kahlo, now a museum. Back to the hotel. Included lunch without beverages. Free afternoon.

DAY 04: CUERNAVACA – TAXCO

This day we will travel by highway to Cuernavaca to look at the cathedral. We will then continue to Taxco, known as the “city of silver”, built on a mountain with rocky streets which lead to white houses with tile ceilings. We will also visit the church Santa Prisca which has gothic towers. There will be free time for shopping. At night, there will be an optional Mexican party with fireworks and other customs.

DAY 05: TAXCO – ACAPULCO

Transport in a regular Bus to the city of Acapulco. Reception and transport to the hotel (all included)

DAY 06: ACAPULCO – NAVIGATION IN YACHT WITH DIVERS

Free morning to enjoy the beaches of Acapulco. In the afternoon, we will navigate on a yacht and look at the famous divers. Back to hotel. Free night.

DAY 07: ACAPULCO – MEXICO CITY

Free morning. At noon, we will return to Mexico. Reception and transport to the hotel. Lodging at Mexico city. Optional: fly in an airplane from Acapulco to Mexico. Optional: an extra night.

DAY 08: MEXICO CITY

Transport to the airport. Possible connections to other Mexican sites.
