Tour to Peru: Machu Picchu & Nazca in 4WD

OVERVIEW

This tour offers a full tour of Peru’s main historic and cultural sites – with a 4×4 adventure!  You have two 4×4 options. You can ride a  through the deserts of the Peruvian coast, over big dunes, until you reach a spectacular beach.  Or you can ride through the Andean mountains where you can see the Andean towns steeped in history.

• See the sea lions, sea birds and possibly dolphins off the Ballestas Islands – Peru’s Galapagos!

DETAILED PROGRAM

Day 01: Lima

Reception and assistance at the airport. Private transport to hotel.
By night, the vehicles will be handed in. Small briefing about driving in Peru

Day 02: Lima – Paracas – Carhuas Beach – Ica – Nazca
Early in the morning, trip towards Paracas. Visit to the classic sites like Ballestas Islands and the Reserve of Paracas.  Lunch at the Lagunillas Bay. Then, a trip from the Reserve to Carhuas Beach, where you will head towards the East. At Ocucaje, you will be able to see whale fossils.
Night at the hotel.

Day 03: Nazca – Puquio – Chalhuanca – Abancay
Ride to Abancay. During the trip you will pass by Puquio and Chalhuanca. Night at hotel in Abancay.

Day 05: Abancay – Cusco
In the morning, trip for about 3 hours towards Cusco. Check-in at hotel. In the afternoon, a small tour around the city: Main Square, Qenqo, Puca Pucará, Tambomachay and Sacsayhuaman. Return to hotel in Cusco.

Day 06: Cusco – Machu Picchu
Transport from hotel to the train station. It will be a journey to the past: you will visit the lost city of Machu Picchu, where the Inca culture manifests itself in architectonic sites, crafts and gastronomy.  Free time to explore the town of Machu Picchu, formerly known as “Aguas Calientes.” Before returning to Cusco, you will enjoy a delicious lunch.  Night at hotel in Cusco.

Day 07: Cusco – Lima
Free morning. Transport to airport. Flight back to Lima.

At night, farewell dinner

Day 08: Lima
